Arun Lakhani, Chief Promoter of Orange City Water (OCW), Chairman & Managing Director of Vishwaraj Group was rewarded with “One of 50 most Impactful Leaders in Water & Water Management internationally” by World CSR at the World Water Leadership Congress and Awards organized at Mumbai recently.

Nagpur: Arun Lakhani, Chief Promoter of Orange City Water (OCW), Chairman & Managing Director of Vishwaraj Group was rewarded with “One of 50 most Impactful Leaders in Water & Water Management internationally” by World CSR at the World Water Leadership Congress and Awards programme organized at Mumbai recently.

World Water Leadership Congress and Awards recognizes outstanding work done by Persons & organisations in Water sector and also innovations and excellence in technology of water projects.

It may be mentioned here, under Arun Lakhani’s able guidance OCW was also rewarded with two most coveted “Best Water Management Practices Award” for their Water Management of Nagpur 24×7 project and ‘Best Peoples Initiative in the Year” by World Water Leadership Congress and Awards at the World CSR Day.

Orange City Water Pvt. Ltd. which is implementing the ambitious 24×7 Water Supply Project for the city of Nagpur. This project was acknowledged as best practice by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He is also promoter of first of its kind Public-Private-Partnership (PPP), in Sewage treatment and reuse project of 200mld on 100% private funding. Both these unique projects are acknowledged widely at international and national forums and are being emulated by many towns, and in the government policies.

The 24×7 Nagpur Project is running successfully for the past more than 4 years. Various operations and maintenance works carried out under the project has significantly benefitted more than 12 lakh people of Nagpur besides catering to each and every household.

Arun Lakhani, believes in taking 24×7 project which is a Public-Private-Partnership project ( PPP) to the “4P” model – the 4th P being People as citizens, without whose onboarding and active participation, social projects like water are difficult to succeed.

In addition to the being a leader in water and waste water sector, Arun Lakhani is also attached with various social, sports and cultural organisations like he is member of National body of Bharat Rural livelihood foundation (BRLF) – a govt of India funded social org.

He is President of Maharashtra Badminton Association. He is President of Runadhar Trust – an organization working in skilling the suicide affected farmer families in vidarbha. He is President of Laxmanrao Mankar Trust – an organization operating 500+ single teacher schools in remote adivasi areas.

He is founder of SEA Foundation – promoting – Sustainability, efficiency and accountability. He is an also an active member of all leading Indian industry bodies including CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM. As a thought leader in water sector, he is invited in various forums to share his experience.

Earlier, OCW has earned various prestigious accolades in the past under guidance of Arun Lakhani like like Special Recognition in SAP, Special Achievement in GIS, Best Practice Award at IUKAN 2013 for ESR Cleaning, Utility Best Practice Award, Global Water Intelligence’s Water Deal of the Year 2013 and, most importantly, the Best PPP Operator Award by The Water Digest. ‘National Award for Excellence in Corporate Communication’ by 6th World CSR Day & National level Award for its social communication initiatives at the 6th Parivartan Sustainability Leadership Award 2016.
