New Delhi: Manoj Tiwari, Delhi state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) on Monday morning tweeted informing his North Avenue residence being ransacked by unknown people on Sunday night. While the BJP leader was not present in the house at that time, he later informed about the entire incident via Twitter.
According to reports, around 7-8 unknown people stormed into North Avenue residence of Manoj Tiwari late evening on Sunday and started to search the entire residence. The attackers also thrashed the servants present in the house and after searching for few more minutes, they left the house. At the time of the attack, Manoj Tiwari was not present in the house. Two of the house staff has been reported to be injured in the attack.
Calling the attack as a big conspiracy against him, Manoj Tiwari demanded the police to investigate the entire incident and not to spare anyone involved in the attack. “Looks like a big conspiracy, that too with police involvement.No one should be spared,” he said. “They are abusing people and looking for Manoj Tiwari… What is happening in Delhi? Just 100 steps away from a police station, a parliamentarian’s house is attacked and staff members are beaten,” Tiwari was quoted by new agency. He further said that he will contact the Home Ministry over the incident.
The eyewitnesses have been quoted saying that the attackers were not afraid of the police. “Don’t know their intention or the reason behind but they were very abusive, were not scared of the police. They were 7-8 in number,” news agency quoted an eyewitness.
The entire incident has been captured by the CCTV camera and the police have started investigating the case. Reports suggest that the police have arrested four people related to this incident and further investigation is underway.
A CCTV footage of the attack has also been released. The footage shows attackers thrashing a house staff of Tiwari’s residence after he stopped them from entering the house.
According to sources, the police are investigating the timing of the attack on the house of the BJP leader. The BJP, under the leadership of Manoj Tiwari, was successful in forming the government in all the three Delhi Municipal corporations.
