Two women robbed of gold chains in temples

Nagpur: Two women visiting the temples on the occasion of ‘Shrawan Somwar’ were robbed of gold chains by unidentified miscreants in separate incidents on August 7.

Kamalbewa Manohar Bapekar (70), resident of Golibar Chowk, Kharbikar Mohalla, went to Pachpaoleshwar Mandir situated in Pachpaoli area around 2 pm on Monday for darshan and puja. But when she came out of the temple, she found her gold chain worth Rs 25,000 missing. Unidentified miscreant(s) took the advantage of rush at the temple and relieved the aged woman of her gold chain.

Tehsil Assistant PSI Ashok Pandel has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC.

In the similar incident, a woman named Deepika Anup Dade was robbed of her mangalsutra worth Rs 60,000. Deepika, along with other family members, had gone to Shiv Mandir, Balaji Nagar, Ajni, around 12.30 pm on Monday. As she was waiting for darshan, unidentified person(s) burgled her gold mangalsutra.

Ajni Woman PSI N G Bhute has booked the unidentified accused under Section 379 and probing the case further.
