Nagpur: Finally the farmers in the district heaved a sigh of relief after they got the SMS on their mobiles of loan waiver. Under the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Saman Scheme, total 69,309 farmers in the district have been benefitted due to historical loan waiver scheme.
One of the farmers Yogesh Krishnaji Rewatkar of Katol was too happy to receive the SMS on his mobile from District Central Cooperative Bank that the loan amounting to Rs 88,000 was waived. It may be mentioned that he had taken Rs 65,000 as crop loan which rose to Rs 88,000 because he had not repaid. But now everything was fine and he would be getting fresh crop loan. Similarly, loan amounting to Rs 1,40766 in name of Shakuntala Leniya of Rewaral was waived which she had taken from Indora Sewa Sahakari Sanstha.
Under the Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Saman Scheme, Rs 19 thousand crores have been deposited in the bank for loan waiver of 41 lakh farmers in State. In the green list from Nagpur district the names of 69,309 farmers names are there but out of these 41,270 farmers loans will be waived while 13,461 farmers will get the benefit of one time settlement. and 11,578 farmers will get incentive grant. The farmers who were eligible for the loan waiver but have not filled the forms will also be included.

The amount of Rs 277.97 crores has been deposited for the farmers in the district as per the green list. The district Central Cooperative along with the nationalised bank started depositing the loan waiver amount in the farmers’ accounts.
