Citing media reports, Pawar flayed the saffron alliance on appointing Yadav as chairman of important department having budget in crores.

“Where are your calls for transparency now? What about your stand of corruption-free government? How an absconding goon is allowed to preside over a government organisation and on what basis?”

Lashing out at the state government for allegedly interfering into police department’s internal working, Pawar said it led to their failure to trace Yadav and his family members, facing charges of serious offences, including attempt to murder.

“Not only, he was appointed at top post, but also granted a rank of a state minister, which is surprising. There is definite pressure on the police force and someone is interfering.”
