Nagpur: The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday found himself in tricky situation when the Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil attacked him directly and demanded sacking of Munna Yadav as Chairman of State Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
“You either sack the absconding Munna Yadav from the post or announce your tacit support to the tainted Chairman, who is being seen as a close aide of you,” the Opposition Leader thundered in Legislative Assembly on the last day of Winter Session. Heaping more discomfort on the Chief Minister, Vikhe Patil demanded Fadnavis to declare Rs 50,000 reward on the head of Munna Yadav who is facing charges serious offences, including attempt to murder, and is ‘wanted’ by city police.
“The fugitive is dodging the police net since the past two months. Munna Yadav is hiding ina farm house, 22 km away from Nagpur. You arrest Vicky Kukreja then the absconding Chairman will automatically get caught,” Vikhe Patil said.
Vikhe Patil’s blistering attack on Chief Minister over his close aide Munna Yadav comes after NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Thursday questioned the BJP-Sena Government on who was protecting him and how the dreaded goon was appointed as Chairman of State Construction Workers’ Welfare Board despite having over 11 offences registered against him. In council, opposition leader Dhananjay Munde blasted the Nagpur police for its failure to arrest Yadav.
Both leaders were speaking during last week resolution in Assembly and Council on Thursday, where they raised doubts on police’s efficiency on not being able to trace the entire family of Yadav, including his two sons — Karan and Arjun — for two months.
