This metro plan is intended to serve as a blueprint for implementing land use and infrastructure proposals in the metro region for a 20-year period from 2012 to 2032 and now this will be released after a long wait.
Using satellite imagery and the geographical information systems (GIS) platform, the plan has been prepared with the latest mapping technology. The area covered under the region is 3,567 sq kms, spread over 721 villages in 9 tehsils of the district. The total estimated cost of infrastructure development of metro region is Rs 37,000 crore.
