Nagpur: Entrusted with the responsibility of providing clean and potable drinking water to the ever growing population, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has proposed to set up 100 water ATMs across the city. The installation of 100 water ATMs was proposed in the NMC budget submitted by Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal to the Standing Committee recently.
The provision of funds for the entire expenditure on setting up the water ATMs will be done through the District Planning Committee of Nagpur District. Before or after receiving the funds, a suitable place will be sought by the NMC administration in different areas such as Kamal Chowk, Indora, Jaripatka, Anant Nagar, Friends Colony, Seminary Hills, Gittikhandan, Sadar, Dharampeth, Mominpura, Sitabuldi, Dhantoli, Ramdaspeth, Itwari, Gandhibagh, Wardhaman Nagar etc. Thereafter, , tenders will be floated for installation of water ATMs.
According to the Transport Committee Chairman Bunty Kukde, a renowned company from Sweden – Josab International, has assured to install three water ATMs in city at the earliest. This company recently established 5 Water ATMs in Katol Municipal Council area.
