Nagpur News: Nagpur Colts registered an easy seven-wicket victory over Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal (HVPM), Amravati, thanks to Mohammad Eklak’s excellent 103 (1×6, 12×4, ) and Sanjog Binkar’s brilliant unbeaten innings of 66 runs (3×6, 7×4) in the final of the Guzder League ‘B’ Division cricket tournament at VCA Stadium, Civil Lines.
Batting first, HVPM put 227 runs on the score board in 50 overs losing 8 wickets. It was Sandeep who sailed HVPM’s innings with the help of his 70 runs knock with the help of eight boundaries. Rahul Chikhalkar made 44 runs (5×4, 1×6), Aniruddha Deshpande (21), Swapnil Usre (24) and skipper Sameer Khan scored 19 runs for his side.
For Nagpur Colts, Faizan took three wickets while Shashank Manwatkar scalped two wickets.
In reply, Nagpur Colts achieved the target in just 39 overs. The brilliant opening partnership of 72 runs between duo Eklak and Rohan Sharma established a bedrock for the team’s victory.
After Rohan Sharma, who scored 20 runs, Ekak again started Colts’ innings towards win with new partner – Binkar.
For HVPM, Subramanium Nilkanth claimed two wickets.
