Woman corporartor’s son, his three friends arrested with pistol and weapons

Nagpur News : Four including a woman corporator’s son have been arrested for allegedly possessing weapons like pistol, swords and knives with them. Vayusena Nagar resident Mukesh Choudhary, 28, son of corporator and chairwoman of Dharampeth Zone Meena Choudhary along with his friends- Rahul Salame from Hazari Pahad, Ajay Yalgulwar of Bhivsan Khori and Jane Paul of Gaddigodam- were found loitering suspiciously with weapons in the campus area on Amravati road on Saturday night.

The raid was conducted by crime branch police under the guidance of Jt. CP Sanjay Saxena after being tipped-off by secret sources about youths roaming with weapons.

Police said that Choudhary had bought the pistol and four rounds in Rs 35,000 after his mother won in elections last year. He has confessed before police that he has fired two rounds in Botanical garden, one in Ambazari garden and other at Telangkhedi. All four accused have been granted police custody till Monday.

Police are still interrogating the youths about their motive behind carrying weapons on Amravati road. Police suspect that either the youths might be planning of dacoity or an assault on their rivals.
