Nagpur News:
The irresponsible actions and misusing the powers proved costly again for Nasir Khan, the Traffic Engineer, working in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) when he was suspended by the NMC Administration. The Deputy Engineer in Water Works Department D P Chitnis was appointed at his place.
It may be mentioned that the Traffic Engineer, Nasir Khan, was always embroiled in one controversy or the other in his entire career in NMC. He was frequently found misusing his powers. He was previously also suspended many times for irresponsible actions. However, after reinstating in the service after being suspended sometimes for months or years, as is said habits die hard, he again indulged in using his powers in irresponsible manner. When his actions came to light, the Standing Committee of NMC hurriedly held a meeting and the Chairman of the Committee Avinash Thakre suspended the engineer till the investigation into the matter was completed. But following delay in the investigation, the action was not taken against Nasir Khan. However, as soon as the investigation was over, the NMC administration on Tuesday issued a suspension order and appointed D P Chitnis, the Deputy Engineer in Water Works Department, at his place.
Any way Nasir Khan was to retire within a short period. Looking to the fact, the allies of the Ruling Party and Muslim League Corporator Aslam Khan had demanded in NMC meeting that Nasir Khan should be spared from any severe action but his demand was rejected. Finally, Nasir Khan was put under suspension.
