Four criminals thrash youth, demand Rs 50,000 for informing police on cricket baiting by them

Nagpur News: A youth was beaten black and blue by four persons when they suspected leaking of information to police regarding baiting on cricket matches being played in the IPL-6. The four not only thrashed the youth but also demanded Rs 50,000 within 24 hours from him and also of dire consequences if he failed to give the amount. The victim has been identified Piyush Gautam Vagde (22), a resident of Sudarshan Nagar, Narsala Road. The Hudkeshwar police acting on the complaint of Piyush and registering an offence arrested two of the four accused. The arrested youths were identified as Ajay Bholenath Fating (25) of Lavkush Nagar and Sagar Nikalane (22) of Shivshakti Nagar, Manewada.

According to complaint lodged with the police by Piyush, Ajay, Sagar and their two friends Jambi and Golu accosted him near Vedant Paan Pacale in Mahakali Nagar and severely beat him. The four youths accused Piyush of giving a tip-off to police on baiting business being carried by them. The accused also snatched the Honda Activa (MH-31 CT 4619) of Piyush and fled away with it. They doled out a life threat to Piyush if he failed to pay them Rs 50000 within 24 hours.

Hudkeshwar police registered an FIR filed by Piyush and succeeded in arresting Ajay and Sagar.
