Nagpur: After the life-threatening ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ and the weird ‘Kiki Challenge’, yet another form of challenge has come to the fore, which is leaving kids mentally bruised and depressed. The alarming trend of Momo Challenge is fast catching up among young kids in Nagpur too. The Momo challenge is a new online game spreading like a wildfire on social media.
It is learnt that a list of challenges is first given to the user which seems easy initially but pressure starts to build up as one escalates to further levels. Any failure to comply with Momo’s order leads to users’ account being hacked, causing them mental harassment by sending disturbing images to their accounts along with all the personal data to be leaked over the internet in no time.
As young children and teens are getting more connected and vulnerable to these new challenges thrown across internet, Nagpur police has stepped up to alarm parents on this.
The city police have taken to Twitter to appeal parents to keep an eye on their children activities.
