Brave youth caught thief red-handed

Nagpur News: A vigilant and brave citizen caught a thief red-handed and helped the police to put him behind bars on Monday. According to police, the complainant Neeraj Abhay Mahakal (25), a resident of Plot No. 43, Lendra Park, Ramdaspeth, along with his brother, was asleep on Monday night.

At around 12.30 am on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, two thieves break open the grill lock and entered the house. They marched towards the second floor when Neeraj suddenly woke up and noticed them. He put a fight with the goons with the help of his brother. The thieves took an iron rod and threatened the two brothers of their life. The two still continued their fight and finally caught one of the thieves while other managed to escape. They informed Sitabuldi police station who reached the spot and took the accused into their custody. The accused has been identified as Dharmashah Rumwo Prajapati (20), a resident of Dattarangi, Badoda, Raipur.

Police registered an offence under section 454, 380, 511, 506 (b), 323, and 34 of the IPC and have launched a hunt for the other thief. Further investigations are under way.
