10-year-old boy drowned in quicksand

Nagpur News : Ankit Pund, a fourth standard student, met with a tragic death while playing with friends at Bhandewadi dumping yard on Saturday afternoon.

Pund, a resident of Suraj Nagar, had gone with his three friends to play near the yard. While playing, he suddenly got caught in the quiksand formed due to rain water. His friends tried to give a helping hand but failed. Soon, the minors alerted nearby workers who then immediately informed fire officials. Within four hours, Ankit’s body was fished out by fire department officials with the help of Jagdish Khare, whose name has been entered in limca book of world records for fishing out thousands of bodies and rescued many people
