Tuesday morning, an ICICI bank employee was found murdered at his Rukmini Nagar residence in Hudkeshwar area. Rajesh Bhojraj Raut, 38, employed as an accountant in Chattrapati Nagar branch, was found dead with head injury in his ransacked house.
Hudkeshwar police suspect that the murder took place on Sunday night during a burglary attempt. Police has registered the case under section 460 of IPC- persons jointly trespassing a house are responsible for causing hurt or death or grievous hurt to any.
PSI Amol Ingle told that Raut was staying alone in his two room rented house. His wife, a cancer patient, passed away two years before. His two-year-old son stays with his father-in-law Hibal Waghade at Aashirwad Nagar.
Relatives told that Raut would regularly go to meet his son at his in-laws place. “He would regularly take his son to play school and would go to meet him in the evening after returning from office,” said a relative.
However, Waghade got worried when Raut didn’t come to meet his son on Monday. He tried to contact him but his cell phone was switched-off.
The incident came to light when Waghade had gone to check at Raut’s room on Tuesday morning. He found the newspapers lying near the door while the latch broken open.
The house was ransacked and Raut was found dead with head injuries. Ingole told that a robbery is suspected behind the murder. Police are investigating about the things stolen from Raut’s residence.
