Husband, in-laws booked for abetting woman to suicide

Nagpur News: Kotawali police booked husband and in-laws of a 25-year-old woman for driving her to suicide.

The deceased, Aarti Anil Chirkare (25), a resident of Bhuteshwar Nagar, near bridge, had hanged herself to ceiling of her house on September 9, this year. On the complaint of Bablu Dayaram Jugele (40), a resident of Dasra Road, Kotawali police had registered a case of accidental death and started the investigations.

During investigations, the fact of verbal and physical torture from in-laws in came to fore. Police said, Aarti tied the nuptial knot in an arrange marriage with Anil Chirkhare on May 25, this year. Soon after her marriage, her mother-in-law Kalabai Chirkhare, sister-in-law Shibha Chirkhare, brother-in-law Jugnu Chirkhare, Nayabai Ranjit Rathe, and Mahesh Chirkhare, started taunting her for bringing fewer gifts in marriage. The taunting soon turned into verbal abuse and then physical torture, the police informed. To get away with the continuous scourge of her in-laws, Aarti took this extreme step, the cops stated in the report.

On the complaint of Ankush Ambarji Avthe (21), a resident of Jal Nagar Ward, Chandrapur, Kotwali police booked Anil and others and registered an offence under Sections 306, 34 of the IPC.
