Nagpur News : A father-son duo was arrested and four of their family members were booked for instigating wife to commit suicide.
According to MIDC police, Babita Chandan Prasad (30), committed suicide on Sundayevening at her residence at Nilkamal Apartment, Flat No. 306, Hingna Road. On the complaint of her father Rajnandan Ramvriksha Das (60), a residence of Radke layout, Plot No. 96, MIDC police registered a case of accidental death.
During investigations, it was revealed that Babita tied the nuptial knot with Chandan Vijay Prasad. But soon after the marriage her husband Chandan Prasad, and her in-laws Vijay Prasad (55), Sayukta Vijay Prasad (48), Kundan Vijay Prasad, Manorama Prasad, Pooja Prasad, all residents of Nilkamal Apartment, started demanding Rs 3 lakh from Babita. They wanted money from Babita’s father on the pretext of starting a new business for Chandan. Thus, frustrated over the regular harassment from her in-laws Babita opted to end her life.
Her father alleged that Babita’s in-laws instigated her to take this extreme step. MIDC police, after investigations, arrested Chandan and Vijay in this regard while Kundan, Sayukta, Manorama, and Pooja were booked under the Sections 498 (a), 306, and 34 of the IPC.
