Nagpur News : In major break through, GR was today issued by the Higher&Technical education department for setting up of Technical University in Maharashtra.University will function from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, lonere, Raigad whereas Nagpur, Pune, Aurangabad and Mumbai will be the Regional centers. The head of these centers will act as the Directors of the university.
The ordinance mentions that admissions will start from this session onwards. Last month the cabinet cleared the way for the new technology university. According to the ordinance the rights of the governance of the university will be with the Dr Ambedkar university Lonere. It means that the headquarters of the university will be at Lonere.

Appointment of the directors for the university will be carried out soon. Nagpur University will give 5 acres of land for setting up of the regional center. The ordinance states that this year’s 1st year engineering admission will be done through the new Technical university. Well for the moment it will be upto the colleges to whether joining the new technical university or remain with Nagpur University. Nagpur University has 50 engineering colleges in its jurisdiction.
Students to benefit from the Technical university
If the colleges join the Technical university it will benefit both the students and the colleges. The syllabus of all the colleges of a Technical university are same. The students, therefore will prefer university and college which have same syllabus. The main reason being that the students will get access to quality education.
