A cheque of Rs 14.73 lakhs handed over to Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal by D C Garg Chairman cum MD, WCL
Nagpur News : On the 26th March 2014, D C Garg, Chairman cum MD, Western Coalfields Limited handed over the cheque of Rs 14.73 lakhs ( Fourteen Lakhs Seventy three thousand) to Pradip Kathole, District Co- ordinating Officer, Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal, Nagpur towards 1st instalment for construction of Mahila Prashikshan Kendra at Butibori, Nagpur for self employment and training to women for economic upliftment and skill development of women residing in and around Nagpur.

An amount of Rs 98.20 lakhs (Ninety Eight Lakhs, Twenty thousand) has been approved by WCL under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for providing financial assistance to Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal. Sri Rupak Dayal, Director Personnel and other senior officers of the company were present on the occasion.
Being the largest Corporate of the region, WCL has been leading the other industries in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives like Construction of Roads, Provision of Drinking Water, Community resources and education for meaningful change in the lives of populace around its command area.
