Nagpur News: Members of Nagpur Shahar Sudhar Samiti and regular citizens on Thursday held a mock funeral service for Police Commissioner Ankush Dhanvijay, blaming him for the deteriorating law-and- order situation in the city and declaring him functionally non- existent.
“Gang wars, chain snatching, cases of assault on women and other serious crimes in the city have escalated since Ankush Dhanvijay took charge as Police Commissioner. The reputation of Nagpur city is deteriorating; women no longer feel secure,” Praveen Raut, President, Nagpur Shahar Sudhar Samiti, told Nagpur Today, “We conducted this Shraddhanjali to symbolise his ineffectiveness and near non- existence as Police Comissioner. Something has to be done”.
