Mayor and Deputy Mayor surrender their official cars as Model Code of Conduct comes into force

With the Model Code of Conduct based on the guidelines laid down by the Election Commission to govern the conduct of political parties and candidates in the run-up to an election from 4:30 pm of September 12, 2014.

The Model Code of Conduct came into force the moment the election dates are announced and remains in force till the results are declared.
At Nagpur, as soon as the Model Code of Conduct came into force, all the official vehicles had to be deposited with the respective departments. As soon as this came to force, all the office-bearers and elected representatives which included Mayor of Nagpur Pravin Datke, Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, Zilla Parishad President Sandhya Gotmare and others had to resort to alternate means of transport to reach their respective houses.
