One person was killed and another injured critically when the Scooty moped they were riding in was hit by a speeding and recklessly driven Star Bus on Tuesday (November 4) night. The fatal accident occurred near Khapri on Wardha Road in Nagpur. Driver of the killer Star Bus has been booked.
According to police, the victims Bhaskar Bhanudas Chaudhary (32), resident of Plot No. 44, Mahalaxmi Nagar near Manish Nagar, Nagpur and his friend Manoj Kanthiram Ambulkar were riding on their Scooty Pep moped (MH-31/DM 3290) on Wardha Ring Road at about 9.30 pm on Tuesday. When both reached in front of Bharat Petrol Pump in Khapri, the speeding Star Bus (MH-31/CA 6170), driven by Janardhan Madke (44), crashed into the Scooty Pep with a forceful impact. The dash proved fatal for Bhaskar Bhanudas Chaudhary as he died on the spot after suffering serious head and other injuries while Manoj Kanthiram Ambulkar got injured critically. Manoj is battling for life at a hospital.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Nilesh Bhanudas Chaudhary, Sonegaon PSI Patil has booked the Star Bus driver Janardhan Madke, resident of Ward No. 12, Kalmeshwar, under Sections 304(A), 338, 279 of the IPC and Sub-Section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and probing the matter further.
