NCC Group Headquarters Nagpur celebrated the National Cadet Corps Day on 26 Nov 2014 at their NCC Complex called “Yuva Shakti Bhawan” located next to WCL HQ in Civil Lines, Nagpur. Dr Jaideep Gupta, ADRM, Central Railway was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The programme was celebrated with much fanfare with approx 100 cadets presented different types of colorful entertainment programs in their unique disciplined style, while welcoming the guests in traditional Maharashtra attire.

The NCC Group which has more than 15000 students from various Schools and Colleges enrolled as cadets, proudly showcased the talent of its cadets from deployment of heavy Gun Drill to presenting songs, music and dances. The Cadets of 2 Mah Bn NCC Amogh Singtamkar and Akash Soni presented Tabla and Flute Recital respectively. The famous Lavani (Folk Dance) was presented by Cadet Sayli Patil of No. 3 Mah Girls Bn NCC. The NCC  Group Nagpur has all three services wing of Army, Navy and Air Force, proudly displays the various achievements of Cadets in form of getting the Best RDC Cadets Championship in NCC skills, to being the winners of “All India Football Championship” in NCC  National Games, held recently in New Delhi.

NCC Group Nagpur is headed by Gp Capt LK Jain, who is an experienced Navigator. The Group has 12 NCC Units in Nagpur and Wardha. These units are commanded by experienced Officers from Army, Navy & Air Force and offer NCC Training for the respective wings.

The Group not only provides different types of NCC training to its cadets but also encourages social awareness among the youth and has taken various projects like adoption of rural villages, tree plantation, AIDS awareness, adult education etc. The cadets of this group recently participated with Indian Railways in “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” campaign at Nagpur Railway Station. NCC Cadets also witnessed the Sky Diving Demonstration at Vayusena Nagar recently. Defence PRO intimated that the celebrations of NCC Day highlighted the motto of NCC i.e. “Unity and Discipline” in a befitting manner.
