Knocked by a rashly driven unidentified vehicle, a policeman lost control over his vehicle and slipped to death in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday at around 1.35 am. The incident happened at T-Point near Subhash Nagar under Pratap Nagar police station. The deceased, identified as Gopal Pawde was posted at police headquarters. Pawde hailed from Wathoda in Wardha district.
Police sources said Pawde was hit by some unidentified vehicle while he was patrolling through Subhash Nagar on his motorcycle (MH-31, DZ-267). Pawde was grievously injured in the accident.

He was declared dead on being taken to the hospital. Pratap Nagar police have registered the case against unidentified driver. Further investigation is on.
