The Blindman’s Car Rally-2015 began with much fervour in Nagpur on Sunday from Krazy Kastle, Ambazari. The event showcased around 100 visually challenged men and women navigating cars across pre- selected city circuit. At the rally, though the vehicle was driven by regular drivers, they were being guided on directions by visually-impaired citizens using a navigator in Braille.

people participated much enthusiastically this time as well. The noble initiative makes not just the visual impaired, but people around them feel glad and proud of what they did. The winner of the rally was Arvind Timburle who was the navigator to winner driver Sourav Mukerji. The 1st runner ups were Ketan Kothari and Navigator Nitesh Guddhe, whereas 2nd runner up’s position was shared by two team- Siddharth Saraf with navigator Chotelal and Altaf Vali with Navigator Prashant Dolkar.
The ladies were left no-where behind. Sarika Soni with navigator Seema Bothari bagged the top-most position. Chairman NRT 83, Anurag Pashine and Convener Sharad Agrawal lead the entire event along with other tablers Ritesh Saraf, Pratik Munot, Anurag Pashine, Piyush Daga, Pramesh Pandhi, Rahul Agrawala, Ashish Agrawal and many more, joining hands equally enthusiastically.
The flagship initiative of NRT 83, as a charity event made society aware of the challenges faced by the visually impaired.
Cabinet minister of finance and planning, and forest departments in the Government of Maharashtra, Sudhir Mungantiwar flagged off the event early morning. The contestants returned at around 3:15 pm to witness a prize distribution ceremony compeered by Ashish Agrawal.

The rally was organized by Round Table India in association with IIFL Pvt Wealth Management and Gyan Jyoti Niwasi Andh Vidhylaya, Hingna, Nagpur for the Blind. The latest technologies, the GPS and the voice maps made drivers behind the wheel comfortable.
Much to everyone’s delight, physically impaired people actively took part in the rally. They were taken care of empathetically by each tabler, the participants, and the guests as well. Fun was element of the do! The tablers did not just conduct the rally, but made the event an enjoyable one as well. Lunch and refreshments were duly arranged.
