The third edition of Lokmat’s Nagpur Premier League (NPL) Football Tournament will kick off on Tuesday at Yashwant Stadium.
The tournament would be inaugurated at a glittering ceremony at 5. 30 p.m. at the hands of Air Marshal S Shriram (SMSO) HQMC Indian Air Force. Mayor Prof. Anil Sole, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, NMC standing committee chairman Dayashankat Tiwari, former MP Banwarilal Purohit, NIT chairman Pravin Darade, municipal commissioner Shyam Wardhane, additional commissioner (Nagpur revenue division) Anand Bharkade, Dr CP Ankush Dhanvijay, director of SCZCC Ravindra Kumar Singhal, divisional manager (Bank fo India) Ajit Korde and assistant general manager Bank of India (mid corporate) Kollegal V Raghavendra will be the special guests on the occasion.
Colourful light and sound beam show, glittering laser show, live entertainment by Surkshetra team and spell bounding creacker show will be the main attraction of inaugural function. An inaugural match will be played between last year’s runnners-up Baidyanath Heroes and Meghe United.
The winner of the tournament will be richer by Rs 1,50,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 75,000. Hardline final winner will be awarded Rs 31,000 while fourth place holder will get Rs 21,000. Apart from this man-of-the match in the league matches will get Rs 3,000 each and the best player of the losing side will be awarded Rs 2,000 in each match.
Man-of-the-match in the semi-finals will get Rs 5,000. Other cash prize include man-of-the final match (25,000), best player of losing team in final (Rs 15,000), best player of the tournament (31,000), best goalkeeper (Rs 15,000), best goal of the tournament (5,000), best forward of the tournament (10,000), best defender (10,000) and best midfielder (10,000). All the cash prizes have been sponsored by Raisoni Group. This year ‘golden boot’ has been sponsored by Atul Yamsanwar’s A One Lifestyle.
