Nagpur: Mild tremors were felt in some parts of Nagpur on Saturday morning triggering widespread panic and pulling fear-stricken people out of their homes and offices. A reader of Nagpur Today said that Sadar, Chhaoni and other areas were shaken for almost 30 seconds around 11.41 am forcing residents to scurry out of their homes and run for safer places. However, there was no immediate report of any loss of life or property.
Soon the office of Nagpur Today was flooded with calls as the tremors were reported from Jaripatka, Koradi Road, Anant Nagar, Mankapur, and almost all parts of North Nagpur. More details are awaited.
Massive tremors lasting well over a minute were felt across northern India after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal this morning with epicenter being Kathmandu. Almost all districts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, parts of National Capital Region, Orissa, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh felt the tremors.
Nearly half an hour after the first tremors, aftershocks were felt again around 12:20 pm across North India.
