Nagpur News: Top seed Shaikh Abdullah outclassed number-two-seed Rohan Gide 6-2 6-0 to lift the winner’s trophy of Gondwana Club AIATA Ranking Men’s Tennis Tournament, on Friday.

It was a battle of Abdullah’s resilience and agility versus Gide’s experience and strength in the final. The left-handed Gide commenced the match with his service game. It was marred by one too many unforced errors, and a double fault on deuce which ultimately resulted in the break of service. The tone was set from that very moment as Gide toiled hard to get any sort of momentum in the game but the young lad from Hyderabad had a reply for everything. Abdullah easily consolidated the break on his serve and broke once again in the fifth game of the set. He eventually killed the set 6-2.

The second set was an even morose story for the 26-year old Gide as he failed to get anything on the scoreboard. Although it has to be mentioned that there were certain very good rallies in the set which accounted for loud cheering and applause from the crowd. But the fact remains that the number two seed was broken thrice in the ultimate set and Abdullah strolled through to a 6-2 6-0 win.
