Nagpur: Strange things are happening to the weather around us but so engrossed have we been in the ‘hot’ political happenings that we failed to notice how hot it is becoming in reality too.
Bhira, in Raigad district of Konkan, an otherwise picture perfect village has already seen mercury shoot above 40* in February itself. On 28th February, Tuesday, the temperature there was 43.6 Celsius.
Since the last 15 days average temperatures in the whole state have been one degree above normal. Bhira has seen an increase of 6.9 above average.
A depression is being formed all along the coast line from Lakshadeep, Karnataka to the interiors of North Vidarbha. This could lead to some rainfall in Nagpur and around on Sunday.
Unless we get this reprieve, days are going to get hotter as we move ahead into March.
