Absconding accused in Pintu Shirke murder case nabbed after 14 years

Nagpur: Absconding since the past 14 years, the key accused in Pintu Shirke murder case was apprehended by sleuths of Crime Branch here on Monday.

Armed with a tip-off that the wanted murderer Kamalesh Sitaram Nimbarte (32) was spotted wandering near Bhande Plot Square, squad of Crime Branch reached the spot and successfully trapped him. Nimbarte was involved in the sensational murder of Pintu Shirke in the premises of District Court (Nyay Mandir) in 2002. The killing was outcome of a property dispute. Nimbarte was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Sessions Court. The High Court too had upheld the judgement. In the meanwhile, Nimbarte was released on parol but jumped the parole and since then went absconding. Other accused involved in the murder are already in jail undergoing the life terms.

Wanted Nimbarte was nabbed by a team led by PSI Sachin Lele and comprised constables Battulal Pandey, Sayyed Wahid, and Pervez Khan.
