Nagpur: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday netted a Land Surveyor red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person who had sought renewal of his land. The Land Surveyor has been identified as Ratansingh Bawri (41), working in City Survey Office No 3.
According to complainant, the Nazul Office had leased a land to his father and uncle. The said lease ended in 2008. Subsequently, the complainant applied for renewal of the land lease to the City Survey Office. In the office, the Land Surveyor Ratansingh Bawri and a private person Shailesh Jaganwar (40) demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for the job to be done.
The ACB sleuths laid a trap at City Survey Office and as soon as Ratansingh Bawri accepted the bribe amount through the private person Jaganwar, they caught him red-handed. Both the accused were booked under Prevention of Corruption Act.
