Nagpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur Range, is organizing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 31 to November 5, 2016 to mark birth anniversary of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. An oath taking ceremony was held at Nagpur Range office of the ACB on the first day.
During the Vigilance Awareness Week, various programmes will be organized. A series of lectures, debates, essay contests, workshops will be held in schools/colleges to highlight ill-effects of corruption on the society. Massive awareness will be created by publishing pamphlets, stickers, banners, hoardings, staging of street plays etc during the Vigilance Week. The BSNL and other mobile companies have been appealed to send messages to the citizens for creating mass awareness against corruption.
The ACB, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, has put up banners at vantage points across the city appealing people to lodge complaints against corruption without any fear on Toll Free Phone No. 1064 WhatsApp, Mobile App, Facebook Page. Public participation is must to eradicate the menace as without people’s cooperation corruption cannot be removed, said a press release issued by ACB.
The ACB organizes Vigilance Awareness Week every year in its efforts to curb corruption with heavy hand.
The Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, has appealed people to contact ACB offices on Toll Free No. 1064 for lodging complaints against corruption. The Toll Free Number has specifically been launched by the ACB to facilitate people in lodging of corruption complaints, said the press release.
