Nagpur/Nanded: In a development that would create ripples in police circles across Maharashtra, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday trapped an IPS officer in Nanded for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 3 lakh red-handed. The action was taken by Amravati Unit of ACB.
The accused, Vijaykrishna Yadav, is a Probationary IPS officer and was appointed as ASP of Nanded a few months back. Trapping of an IPS officer while accepting Rs 3 lakh bribe is the first incident in of the kind in this year.
The ACB action created ripples in police circles across the state.
