Nagpur: The administration is gearing up for the Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebrations at the historic Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur and the Dragon Palace Temple at Kamptee. The celebrations assume significance as they are being held on a grand scale after COVID19 pandemic.
Vijayalaxmi Bidari Prasanna, Divisional Commissioner, chaired a meeting of the agencies concerned on Thursday at Divisional Commissionerate here. She took stock of the preparations for the Dhammachakra Pravartan Din programmes to be held at Deekshabhoomi as well as Dragon Palace Temple between October 3 and October 6. Bidari-Prasanna asked the officials to ensure that the people visiting Nagpur during Dhammachakra Pravartan Din events should not face any inconvenience.
The Divisional Commissioner asked NagpurMunicipal Corporation (NMC) to ensure supply of clean drinking water and uninterrupted power supply. As per the requirement, the agencies concerned should make arrangements for standpost, tankers and PVC pipes. NMC should also take care of maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation at Deekshabhoomi, she added.
The Divisional Commissioner issued instructions to the officials concerned regarding mobile hospital and mobile toilets, keeping safety boats ready at Ambazari and Futala lakes, make sure that CCTV cameras are working, availability of adequate number of city buses and State Transport buses for visitors, focus on accident-free travel, temporary hospitals with adequate stock of medicines, police bandobast, proper management of food stalls, providing portable fire extinguishers, information boards, arrangements for accommodation in case of sudden rainfall, etc.
