Nagpur: After a decade-long manhunt, the Sonegaon police of Nagpur have arrested Suresh Kondbaji Burrewar, a 54-year old swindler who had been evading capture for a decade. Burrewar, who was wanted in connection with a high-profile fraud case, was finally arrested near Wardha.
According to police, Suresh Burrewar had been on the run since the fraud case against him was registered. The police continued their search for him as new information suggested he might still be alive. A special team was formed, consisting of PSI Pramod Mohite, Head Constable Rajesh Masram, and other officers including Yashwant, Dinesh, Ravi, Shalik, Manoj, and Swapnil Karande.
Over the past ten days, the team intensified their efforts and gathered intelligence and tracking leads. Their investigation led them to a farmhouse in the Wardha district, where Burrewar was believed to be hiding. Acting on this tip-off, the team laid a trap and successfully arrested him on the Wardha route. Following his arrest, Burrewar was produced before the court. The court has remanded him to judicial custody.
