Nagpur: Quick Recap! Despite several instances of the ‘Nightlife of Nagpur’ turning into a ‘Nightmare’ throughout 2023, it took a murderous attack on a politician’s son in December 2023 for Nagpur Police to write to the District Collector and suspend Agent Jack’s bar license amid the heat!

Despite ‘just the argument’ being triggered in Agent Jack, and the ‘assault’ taking place on Kamble Square (outside the establishment), Nagpur Police ensured the suspension of Agent Jack’s bar license!

Cut to January 7, another incident of a drunken brawl occurred. Again, the venue was the VR Mall-based pub, this time Warehouse. A similar series of events occurred, but this time the establishment was spared!

On January 7 at 11.30 pm, contractor Saipratap Bhandari and his friends Darshan Rishi Karonde, Tirthas Sanjay Barse, and Yash Bhimrao Shende were partying at the Warehouse Pub in VR Mall at Medical Square.

A dispute arose with Shubham Mahalle, the alleged criminal, around 1.30 am over suspicions of molesting his girlfriend. Saipratap exited the pub, where Shubham and seven to eight accomplices attacked and injured him and his associates. Imamwada Police registered a case of rioting and assault. Despite over a week passing since the incident, Shubham and his associates remain elusive.

Even a week after the assailants assaulted three persons at Warehouse Pub at VR Mall, the police are yet to apprehend the accused persons. Cops have also failed to take any action against Warehouse Pub showing disparity in action.

Ironically, while several establishments in the Second Capital of the State are still operating and have been notorious for such fights and obscene incidents, the police have left them scot-free—merely because of their political connections!

Speaking to Nagpur Today, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone IV Vijaykant Sagar had confirmed that cops have not served any notice to close Warehouse yet.
