Nagpur: It took a murderous attack on a politician’s son for Nagpur Police to write to the District Collector and suspend the bar license of an upscale restro-bar, in this case it is Agent Jack facing the heat!

It is pertinent to mention that, following the brawl that broke out at Agent Jack in VR Mall, resulting in a murderous assault on the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and others at Kamble Square under Imamwada Police Station in the early hours of Monday, Nagpur Police have written a letter to the District Collector to cancel the bar license of the establishment.

However, the incident has left people baffled. Despite the attack not taking place on the Agent Jack premises, the police have written to suspend its bar license. Ironically, while several establishments in the Second Capital of the State are still operating and have been notorious for such fights and obscene incidents, the police have left them scot-free—merely because of their political connections!

The nightlife of Nagpur has always come into the limelight for the wrong reasons. Nagpur Police have already issued special guidelines to manage the thriving night culture of the city. However, incidents of drunken brawls inside and outside city pubs continue to haunt people.

While intoxication remains the prime reason behind the fights and misbehavior with women at these prominent establishments, alleged ‘substance’ abuse has also been rumored in certain circles.

But just because it didn’t involve any politician’s son yet, no action seems to be taken against anyone!

Any establishment creating such a situation will meet the same fate,” he assured.
