Nagpur: Gondia District Chess Association is organising Late Ramesh Kotwal Memorial All India Open Rapid FIDE Rating Chess Championship on June 25 and 26 at Bhavbhuti Rang Mandir, Poona Toli, Gondia.
The meet will be played under the aegis of All India Chess Federation and Maharashtra Chess Association. First round will begin on June 15 at 11 am after inauguration. Prize distribution will be held on June 26 at 3 pm. Total prize money is Rs 40,000 with special prizes for boys Under-13 and women players. The prizes include 1) Rs 15,000/- 2) Rs 10,000/- 3) Rs 5,000/- 4) Rs 3,000/-. Best veteran player, best unrated player, best woman player and best Gondia player will get Rs 1000/- each. Gold medals will be given to Under-7, U-9, U-11, U-13 (boys and girls) winners.
Entry fee is Rs 200 per head, informs a press release.
