Nagpur: Amaan Haq won Silver Medal in Sub – Junior category of “India Independence Cup International Karate Championship” in the recently concluded tournament held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Overall 70 participants participated in the Sub – Junior category and Amaan remained unbeaten till the final level and missed the Gold medal only by one point.
The tournament was organised by Shito Karate Institute approved by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. Shito Karate Institute is a member of World Karate federation and is the sole recognised national Federation for Karate sports in India. Amaan Haq is student of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines, Nagpur. He is son of CA Irfan Haq and Dr. Samina Haq. Amaan has credited his success to his mentor & coach Shihan Zakir Khan, Emmanuel Philips and Pankaj Khandagale, his parents, elders and school teachers.
