Nagpur: “Ambhora Bouddha Vihar Trust should submit proposal through the office of Kuhi tahsildar for acquisition of land under forest rights for Vihar development, and tahsildar should provide land after verifying the proposal.” said Guardian Minster Chandrashekhar Bawankule during a meeting held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Sabhagruh, Collectorate, here on Sept 8.
Prominently present in the meeting included MLA Krishna Khopde, District Colletor Sachin Kurve, NIT Chairman Shyam Wardhane, Addl Collector Dr Kadambari Bhagat, resident Dy Collector Ravindra Kumbhare and various departmental heads.
Addl District Collector tabled a proposal about development of Bouddha Vihar at Ambhora, as ‘C’ category tourist spot, under tourism development programme.The land required for this Bouddha Vihar comes under submerged area of Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC), and it (land) also comes under forest department’s reserved land. And so, the consent of both the departments is necessary, added Dr Bhagat.
The Minister directed all the departments concerned to take a unanimous decision over the issue and release the land withini10 days for the required purpose, so that the necessary tendering process may be initiated.
When brought to the notice of the Guardian Minster that certain wildlife from Gorewada project area enters the nearby farm-fields and damage the standing crops, he directed the forest officials to take suitable measures within a week to sort out the menace after consulting the forest minister. In this way he assured the local farmers who brought to his notice the menace.
Over the construction of slab-drain having 900 metre diametre and 5 metre width over a culvert on Narhar–Ghatpendhari road, he directed the PWD officials to submit proposal within 15 days so that the construction work may be expedited.
