Nagpur: Rajkumar Anand Wardhekar (Bagdi), Deputy RTO at Amravati Regional Transport Office, has been terminated from service for submitting a false birth certificate. Wardhekar’s attempt to alter his date of birth, originally reported as September 22, 1964, to avoid retirement on September 30, 2022, was uncovered during an investigation initiated by the Transport Commissioner’s office.
The inquiry revealed that Wardhekar had used forged documents to try and change his date of birth to September 22, 1965 or 1966, which was discovered through verification of his school and college certificates, municipal records, and other official documents.
The committee also verified the attached birth certificate from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the domicile certificate from the District Collector’s office.
The Regional Transport Office, Nagpur (City), was informed through the one-member committee to verify the authenticity of these certificates. However, Wardhekar did not appear with the required documents. The one-member committee chaired by Joint Commissioner (Accounts) Vidyasagar Hirmukhe concluded that his actions constituted financial fraud and a breach of rules, leading to his dismissal.
