Nagpur: A Pune-based couple was cheated of 2 crore by a director of a known company of the city. Police said that the complainant Chetan Jayantilal Shah (45) is a resident of Pune. Shah and his wife Shefali had met the director of Legato Hair and Skin International Pvt. Ltd. named Anil Wamanrao Admane, a resident of Ashirwad NIT Colony, Vishwakarma Nagar, Nagpur, in the year 2011. Slowly, their communication increased. As the relationship thickened between Admane and Shah, Admane promised him to allot 51 per cent share of Legato company in the name of Shah’s wife Shefali.
Admane told them the company owns a series of hotels, while its branches are located in renowned malls of the city. Admane proposed that they would start business together. Falling in the trap, Shah advanced 2.05 crore to Admane. Between June 29 and September 2015, Admane failed to give 50 per cent share in Legato to Shefali as promised earlier.
This led to an argument between Shah couple and Admane. Realising that they have been cheated, the Shah couple on Saturday lodged a complaint of cheating against Admane at Sadar police station. After thorough investigations, Sadar police registered offences under sections 409, 420, 406, and 34 of the IPC against Admane and Legato Hair and Skin International Pvt. Ltd.
