Nagpur: The Department of Physical Education at Anjuman College of Engineering & Technology, situated in Sadar, Nagpur, orchestrated a spirited Independence Day Celebration on the college campus, in alignment with the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was a testament to the college’s commitment to fostering patriotism and unity among its students and faculty.
The ceremony kicked off on the morning of August 15 with the unfurling of the Indian flag by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Kumar Sir, Delivery Centre Head of TCS, Nagpur. Alongside him stood Mr. Tanvir Mirza Sir, Chairman of the College Development Committee of Anjuman Hami-E-Islam, Mr. Riyaz Ahmed, HR Manager at TCS Nagpur, Dr. Syed Mohammad Ali, Principal of ACET, Dr. Ahmed Sajjad Khan, Vice-Principal, and Dr. Zakir S. Khan, Deputy Director of Physical Education at ACET. Distinguished heads of various departments, including Dr. Namrata Lotia, HOD of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Ruhina Qazi, HOD of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Tasneem Khan, HOD of Science & Humanity, Dr. Nazish Khan, HOD of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Tahseen-ul Hasan, HOD of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Dr. Ruhi Uzma, HOD of Electrical Engineering, and Dr. Rashmi Bade, HOD of Civil Engineering, graced the occasion. Also in attendance were Mr. Aamir Siddiqui, Administrative Officer, Mr. Abdul Gaffar, Account Officer, and Mr. Vikas Nagrare, Librarian of ACET.
The proceedings began at 8:15 AM with the resonating strains of the National Anthem, followed by a heartfelt rendition of a Patriotic Song. The ceremony also included a noteworthy Tree Plantation Ceremony as part of the “MERI MATI MERA DESH” initiative of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, in collaboration with the AYUSHI & ARUSHI GREEN FOUNDATION. This symbolic act underscored the commitment to environmental conservation and national progress, reflecting the values that India’s Independence Day represents.
The day’s events fostered a profound sense of unity and patriotism among all attendees, encapsulating the spirit of India’s journey towards freedom and progress. The successful execution of the Independence Day Celebration owed its accomplishment to the diligent efforts of Dr. Zakir S. Khan, Prof. Sadiya Patka, Prof. Shama Khan, Mr. Amir Siddiqui, Mr. Aqueel Khan, Mr. Imran, Mr. Nasir Khan, and numerous other dedicated individuals.
