Another woman quits life after torture from in-laws

Nagpur News: Suicides due to frustration out of dowry have increased in the past few days in the second capital. During investigations in a suicide case, it was revealed that husband and in-laws instigated a young woman to end her life.

Radhika Satish Ragde (23), a resident of CPWD Quarter Type II, Building No. 15, Quarter No. 108 was found hanging to the ceiling in her house on Monday evening. Her father Rajesh Chhotelal Shendre (43), Annapoorni Nagar alleged that his daughter committed suicide out of physical and mental harassment by her in-laws.

Soon after the marriage of Radhika and Satish, her in-laws started harassing her over less gifts in the marriage. They demanded more gifts from her family. Her in-laws Asha Ragde, Rajesh Hatifek, and her husband Satish harassed her mentally and physically between February 18 and December 23 this year.

Tired of the regular torture by in-laws, Radhika finally decided to quit her life and hanged self with the ceiling in her bedroom on December 23.

On the complaint of Rajesh Shendre, Gittikhadan police booked her husband and in-laws and registered an offence under Sections 498 (a), 306, and 34 of the IPC.
