Nagpur: The Chief Minister-Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme has been launched in Maharashtra to enhance the economic independence of women, improve their health and nutrition, and strengthen their role in the family. Implementation of this scheme has commenced at the district level, and eligible women are encouraged to apply.
This initiative is overseen by District Collector Vipin Itankar in Nagpur district. The scheme commenced on July 1, and applications will be accepted until July 15. On this occasion, the District Collector stressed completing this work with top priority during a meeting. Application forms are available up to the Gram Panchayat level for accessing this scheme. Women aged 21 to 60 years can submit applications through Anganwadi Sevaks. At the taluka level, applications should be submitted at the Nagar Parishad/Nagar Panchayat and Anganwadi Centres, and in Municipal areas, they should be submitted at ward offices.The District Collector has instructed Chief Officers, Block Development Officers in this context.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Aparna Kolhe, District Women and Child Development Officer Bharti Mankar, along with local officials. Tehsildars, Principals, and Block Development Officers participated via video conferencing.
Beneficiary eligibility
The beneficiary woman must be a resident of Maharashtra; eligible categories include married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women aged 21 to 60; beneficiaries must possess a bank account; annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
Disqualification criteria
Family income exceeds Rs 2.50 lakh annually; Family includes an income tax payer; family members are regular/permanent employees or pensioners of government bodies, except outsourced and voluntary workers; the beneficiary has received more than Rs 1,500 through other government financial schemes; family includes a sitting or former Member of Parliament/MLA, Chairman/Vice-Chairman/ Director/Member of Board/Corporation/Undertaking of Government; family jointly owns more than five acres of agricultural land; family owns four-wheel vehicles (excluding tractors).

Scheme application form; beneficiary’s Aadhaar Card; Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate/ Birth Certificate; head of family’s income certificate issued by competent authority; photocopy of first page of bank passbook; passport size photograph; ration card; undertaking to comply with scheme terms and conditions.
