Simla/ Nagpur: Caught in the cobweb of disproportionate wealth, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh succeeded in seeking stay from Himachal High Court against his perceived arrest by CBI. It may be mentioned that the CBI had raided on Saturday as many as 11 separately located places of Virbhadra, which included his house as well.
The day when his house was raided, the same day his daughter was getting married. This incident had put him in severe embarrassment and brought him shame too. According to CBI sources, there is a great difference between Virbhadra’s official source of income and the value of assets possessed by him.
HP Chief Minister has claimed that he is engaged in ‘apple-trading’ and maximum portion of his income gets accumulated through the said trading. During raids in his house, the CBI had seized certain important documents pertaining to DA scam. It resulted in lodging an FIR against him.
The next hearing against him is slated for October 14. However, the clouds of arrest hovering on him have become scattered for some time.
