Assembly Election delays the RTMNU winter examination

The winter examination 2014 conducted by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has been delayed from its usual Time-table,due to the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections this month. According to the revised time-table winter examination will be starting from early November.

The students however are complaining about the delay, as delay is causing them less gap between their papers. They are not getting much leave between the papers schedule.

Every year the winter examination were held in early October, but this year the examinations will start late by at least 20 days. The exams will continue till December end. The voting for the assembly elections are on October 15 and counting will be conducted on October 19. For this many schools and colleges will also be utilized, with teachers also being part of the election duty.

The winter exams will be in three phases.The first phase will conclude by November 14. And the second phase will start from November 15. The Schedule and exams for the third phase is still not announced. Around one and half lakh’s students are expected to appear in the winter examination this year.

The late examination would also affect the summer examination next year, as the results of winter would come out in February-March. So, one can expect the summer examinations to start from April. The number examinations and students are also much more in Summer.
Also ,This winter examination will be held under the new Controller of Examination (COE) Prashant Mohite.
