Nagpur: In a disturbing incident aboard the Patliputra Express, a 9-year-old girl fell victim to an attempted assault by a coach attendant, sparking outrage and raising concerns about passenger safety on trains.
The incident unfolded as the young girl, accompanied by her mother and relatives, was traveling on the Patliputra Express from Nagpur. The alleged assailant, identified as Mohammad Munna, a 50-year-old resident of Bihar, had been working as an attendant in railway coaches for the past eight years.

According to eyewitnesses, the horrifying incident took place during the night between 1:00 AM and 1:30 AM. As the victim entered the train’s restroom, the accused followed her and forcefully closed the door, attempting to assault her. Despite the girl’s desperate cries, the perpetrator allegedly exposed himself and engaged in lewd behavior.
The brave young girl resisted the assault and managed to escape from the restroom, running towards her mother. The distressed mother, witnessing the incident, immediately raised an alarm and sought help from fellow passengers. The accused, undeterred, continued to harass the victim, even attempting to show obscene content and demanding money.
Passengers intervened forcefully, causing a commotion and drawing the attention of railway authorities. The accused was apprehended and handed over to railway police for further investigation.
Railway police in Nagpur halted the train at the station, initiating a thorough investigation into the incident. The victim, accompanied by her family, provided a detailed account of the harrowing experience. The accused, Mohammad Munna, now faces charges of attempted assault and other related offenses.
