Atul Rane has taken over as Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway from today. He is a 1998 Batch IRTS officer. He succeeds V.A. Malegaonkar, who is moving to State Government as OSD & Joint Secretary (Railway Projects), on deputation.
Atul Rane is a Computer Science engineer. In his distinguished career as an IRTS officer, he has held many important posts on Central Railway such as Area Manager, Bhusaval, Divisional Traffic Manager (Suburban), Mumbai, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Pune, etc. and has contributed immensely towards betterment of suburban operations and passenger amenities on Central Railway.

Prior to taking over as Chief Public Relations Officer, he was working as Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mumbai Division, Central Railway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai. He is a recipient of Awards of General Manager and Railway Minister for outstanding service and various efficiency shields for the Division.
